One from the SommSelect vault! Sisters Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée Mugneret run this jewel-box Burgundy domaine named for their late father, Georges, and have turned it into one of the most prestigious addresses in the region. Theirs are impeccably crafted, gorgeously aromatic wines across the board, drawing from roughly 20 acres of vineyard holdings in Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

This wine is the heart and soul of Vosne-Romanée. The Mugneret sisters select older-vine fruit from contiguous parcels in Vosne (‘La Columbière,’ ‘Champs Goudins’ and ‘Le Pré de la Folie’) plus ‘Les Chalendins’ to the northeast and ‘Les Croix Blanches’ to the south, for a Pinot Noir of finesse and pure ruby flavors.

All hand-harvested from 30 year-old vines. This is profound and wonderfully aromatic Pinot after 30 minutes of decant time. Aromas of dark berries, cherries, wild strawberries abound with a hint of brown spice and mushroom notes. Silky with mineral lift on the mid-plate. This well above village grade Vosne-Romanée.
