Cabernet Cellar Pack

This curated four-pack is a deep dive into the world of Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing how this noble grape expresses itself across different terroirs, from the high-elevation volcanic soils of Lake County to the rugged peaks of Napa Valley's most iconic mountains. This is a journey of discovery, power, and elegance.

2020 Garage Wine Co., Cabernet Sauvignon "Reelegido Vineyard" Lot 121, Maipo Valley, Chile
The Global Benchmark

Our journey begins in Chile's acclaimed Maipo Valley, where artisanal producer Garage Wine Co. crafts this single-vineyard Cabernet from the Andes foothills. Hand-harvested and fermented naturally in open-top fermenters, this wine is a pure expression of place. Aromas of black currant, dark cherry, and plum are layered with black pepper, graphite, and dried thyme. The palate is creamy and balanced with finely grained tannins, showcasing the elegance and structure that has made Maipo Valley a global benchmark for Cabernet Sauvignon.

2019 Ovis, Cabernet Sauvignon, High Hills, Lake County
The Organic Pioneer

Next, we travel to Lake County, just north of Napa, where Clay Shannon farms his 2,000-acre ranch with a commitment to regenerative, organic, and biodynamic practices. His top-tier OVIS Cabernet comes from his best hillside block, rooted in red volcanic soils. This wine delivers a beautiful profile of fresh cassis, black cherry, chaparral, and sweet tobacco—a luxury Napa profile at a fraction of the price. It's a testament to the potential of Lake County and the vision of a true California pioneer.

2016 Robert Craig, Cabernet Sauvignon, Spring Mountain District
The Mountain Classic

Now we ascend into Napa Valley's iconic mountains. Robert Craig is a master of high-elevation Cabernet, and this bottling from the Crowley Vineyard on Spring Mountain is a classic. At 2,000 feet, the rocky volcanic soils produce a wine of incredible structure and finesse. With nearly a decade of age, this 2016 is just hitting its stride, offering suave, silky tannins and a complex profile of cassis, black and blue fruit, menthol, and sweet tobacco. Antonio Galloni of Vinous awarded it 94+ points, calling it "suave, silky and super-polished."

2022 Martin Ray Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Howell Mountain
The Modern Powerhouse

Our journey culminates on Howell Mountain, one of Napa's most prized terroirs. The 2022 Martin Ray Reserve is a towering expression of this rugged landscape, delivering remarkable intensity and grace. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, and dark cherry are layered with violet, lavender, and savory notes of tobacco leaf and clove. Waves of dark chocolate and cedar ride a vibrant acidic backbone, carrying through to a long, complete finish. Awarded 95 points by James Suckling, this is a wine that roars with the power of Howell Mountain, a fitting finale to our Cabernet exploration.
