MV Champagne André Clouet, Rosé No. 5 Grand Cru Brut, Bouzy
Champagne André Clouet is a historic grower house in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy. The Clouet family first made their name as printers to the royal court at Versailles in the 18th century (hence their ornate labels), and their roots in Bouzy run deeper still. Today Jean-François Clouet specializes in Pinot Noir, making Champagnes known for their vinous generosity, richness and elegance.
Rosé No. 5 is a multi-vintage rosé made entirely from Grand Cru Pinot Noir grown on Bouzy's chalk slopes, with roughly 10 to 12% still red Pinot Noir from old estate vines blended in for color and depth. After more than three years on its lees in the estate's chalk cellars, it shows a pale salmon hue and a satiny mousse, balancing red berry weight with chalky drive: wild raspberry, red currant, pink grapefruit, brioche and crushed chalk, finishing crisp and dry.
