Fratelli Alessandria is a historic, family-run estate based in the commune of Verduno, at the northernmost edge of the Barolo zone. While famous for their classic Nebbiolos, the Vittore Alessandria family is equally revered as the primary champions of Pelaverga Piccolo, an ancient, rare native red grape grown almost exclusively in Verduno. Farmed organically on white limestone and marl soils, "Speziale" showcases this rare variety's naturally aromatic, spice-driven personality.
The 2025 vintage captures Pelaverga at its most energetic. Fermented in stainless steel to protect its high-toned fruit and delicate floral character, the wine completely avoids oak aging. It explodes with a signature perfume of freshly cracked pink and black peppercorns, wild strawberries, sour cherries, and rose petals, framed by light-bodied, crunchy acidity.
