Arterberry Maresh is one of the Willamette Valley's most storied names, built around Maresh Vineyard in the Dundee Hills. Jim and Loie Maresh planted the site in 1970, making it one of Oregon's pioneering vineyards, and today their grandson Jim Maresh farms it and makes the wines. The old vines are dry-farmed and own-rooted, growing deep in red volcanic Jory soil.
Farmed without synthetic inputs and made with minimal intervention, the 2024 aged 16 to 18 months in neutral French oak. Jim's style favors light color, lift and aromatics over extraction, and the 2024 is pure and Burgundian: wild red cherry, pomegranate, dried rose petal, orange zest, damp forest floor and a streak of iron.
Critical Acclaim
99 Points, James Suckling
"An intense, layered and intriguing wine that changes a lot in the glass. Pronounced umami, dark fruit, spices, pine forest, crushed flowers and orange peel up front. Concentrated and refined with energetic acidity and verve, leading to a long, evolving finish."
