2022 The Eyrie Vineyards, Pinot Noir "Estate" Dundee Hills

The Eyrie Vineyards is the historic birthplace of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, founded by pioneer David Lett in 1965. Today, winemaker Jason Lett continues his father's vision with non-irrigated, certified organic farming across five original estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills. Rooted in volcanic red Jory soil, Eyrie's Pinot Noirs are celebrated for their delicate color, restraint, moderate alcohol, and extraordinary ability to age gracefully for decades.

The 2022 "Estate" Pinot Noir draws on all five estate sites, including the Original Vines planted in 1965. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels with only about 12% new wood, the 2022 highlights classic Dundee Hills elegance: bright red cherries, wild raspberries, forest floor, dried tea leaf, and crushed iron.

Why You'll Love It

  • The historic, standard-bearing pioneer of Oregon Pinot Noir, from original 1960s estate plots.
  • Restraint-driven style with moderate alcohol, bright acidity, and minimal new oak influence.
  • Complex, earthy nose of wild red berries, damp forest floor, dried rose petals, and iron spice.

How To Serve It

  • Serve at cool room temperature, between 58°F and 62°F.
  • Decant for 30 minutes to allow the delicate forest floor and red fruit aromatics to bloom.
  • Pour into Burgundy stems to capture its subtle floral and tea leaf perfume.
  • Pair with plank-roasted wild salmon, roasted duck breast, or a wild mushroom tart.
