Poderi Aldo Conterno sits in the top tier of Barolo producers, with bottles found in serious cellars alongside the greatest names of Burgundy and Bordeaux. "Romirasco" is the flagship of the estate's single-vineyard bottlings. Situated at the highest point of the family's Bussia holdings (nearly 420 meters), its 50- to 55-year-old vines are rooted in ancient, limestone-rich marl and chalk. Romirasco strikes an extraordinary balance, combining the muscular power of Cicala with an ethereal, highly perfumed elegance.
The 2022 "Romirasco" spent 24 to 30 months aging in large Slavonian oak casks. The nose offers dried rose petals, dark raspberries, licorice, mint, camphor, and crushed chalk. The palate is seamless, regal, and multi-dimensional, framed by fine-grained tannins that coat the palate endlessly.
