Great white Burgundy doesn’t require a single stitch of oak to hold you spellbound. Raised in Chablis at Domaine La Marquise, Jérémy Arnaud cut his teeth across top organic and biodynamic cellars before striking out on his own to prove that site purity reigns supreme. Situated in Tonnerre, right on the eastern fringe of Chablis, the 1.7-hectare Les Veuillots parcel shares the exact same fossil-rich, Kimmeridgian limestone soils as its famous neighbors. Rather than masking this cold-climate terroir with wood, Jérémy ferments and ages this single-site Chardonnay entirely in concrete eggs. The vessel’s oval shape creates a natural, gentle suspension of the lees, yielding a sleek, beautifully polished texture with zero oak intervention.
The 2022 vintage in Burgundy produced white wines with electric energy, generous fruit, and immediate charm—and this bottle is drinking at its absolute peak today. In the glass, it leaps out with precise citrus oil, white orchard fruit, crushed chalk, and a long, saline finish. The depth, focus, and creamy mineral tension easily rival a Premier Cru Chablis that would routinely fetch $60 to $70 on today's market, yet it sits at a fraction of that cost.
With 2022 White Burgundies practically extinct on store shelves, finding a wine of this caliber and value is rare. We secured every last bottle we could get our hands on directly for our clients, but inventory won't last long. Lock in a handsome savings when you buy a 6-pack and experience just how thrilling unoaked Chardonnay can be.
Santé!
