2022 Fratelli Alessandria, Barolo del Comune di Verduno

This bottling serves as Fratelli Alessandria's commune-level benchmark, blending Nebbiolo fruit sourced across several outstanding organically farmed sites within Verduno, including Riva Rocca, Campasso, Boscatto, and Neirane. Verduno is celebrated across the Langhe for producing the most delicate, floral, and aromatic Barolos, owing to its chalky Marne di Sant'Agata Fossili soils and cool northern positioning.

In the warm 2022 vintage, the estate's traditional methods, long maceration followed by 30 months of aging in large Slavonian and French oak casks, ensured the wine retained its signature ethereal lift. It balances ripe red cherries, crushed raspberry, and sweet spices with fine-grained, silky tannins.

Why You'll Love It

  • Outstanding commune-level Barolo showing the signature floral finesse of Verduno.
  • Traditional cask aging permits pure varietal Nebbiolo aromatics to shine without heavy wood flavor.
  • Layered with aromas of dried red cherries, orange zest, rose petals, and subtle licorice.

How To Serve It

  • Serve at cool room temperature between 60°F and 63°F.
  • Decant for 1 hour to allow the youthful Nebbiolo tannins to relax.
  • Pour into burgundy stems to maximize its ethereal perfume.
  • Excellent alongside mushroom risotto, roasted duck breast, or veal scaloppine.
