2022 Boyer-Martenot, Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières" (BH92-94 Points)

Positioned at the highest elevation of Meursault’s Premier Crus, Perrières is celebrated by connoisseurs as an unrecognized Grand Cru. Here, the rocky, mineral-rich soils impart an extraordinary tension and precision that distinguish every sip of this exceptional Chardonnay.

Under the meticulous guidance of Vincent Boyer—a fourth-generation, hands-in-the-soil winemaker—this wine is crafted using a low-intervention philosophy. By embracing indigenous yeasts and aging in a unique blend of cement eggs and oak barrels, Boyer captures the pure expression of his vineyard’s terroir, creating a wine that evolves beautifully with time.

Renowned expert Clive Coates, MW, has observed that Perrières is the Premier Cru “most people would agree produces Meursault’s best wine.” Equally, Allen Meadows of Burghound praises it as “textbook,” with a consistent rating in the 92–94 point range for the last four releases.

With intensely layered aromas of yellow apple blossom, dried pineapple, Asian pear, lime blossom, and nuances of raw hazelnut, this wine unfolds to reveal elegant floral accents, exotic spice, and a signature mineral finish. A brief decanting of 30 to 45 minutes will unlock its full, captivating complexity.

Press: 92-94 Points, Burghound - Sweet Spot Outstanding!

“An enticingly layered nose combines decidedly cool notes of citrus confit with those of mineral reduction and broad range of floral elements. There is again fine volume to the delicious, succulent and reasonably concentrated medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the cuts-like-a-knife finish that displays even better depth and persistence on the youthfully austere finale. This is textbook Perrières and should age like one too.”
