2022 Alain Geoffroy, Bourgogne Chardonnay is a clean, lively white Burgundy that leans into freshness and classic regional charm. Bright citrus, green apple, and white peach are met by a subtle creamy edge and a touch of mineral tension, giving the wine a balanced, easygoing feel with enough shape to keep it interesting.

Made with Chardonnay grapes that come from the Chablis area in northwestern Burgundy, between Beaune and Paris. This region benefits from a cool continental climate with pronounced temperature swings—cold winters, warm summers, promoting slow, steady grape ripening. The soils in Chablis are Kimmeridgian limestone and chalk, known for high marine fossil content and excellent drainage. These characteristics combine to produce wines with high acidity, finesse, and great minerality.

The estate has been in the Geoffroy family since around 1850 when Honoré Geoffroy started developing vineyards in the villages of Beine and La Chapelle Vaupelteigne. The estate was expanded to a full domaine by Alain Geoffroy, who remained committed to keeping the operation deeply traditional and family-oriented throughout his tenure. Today the property spans about 50 hectares, and is managed by Alain Geoffroy's family, notably his wife Cathy and daughter Nathalie.

These 10 year old (average) vines are farmed sustainably and hand harvested. Fermentation and aging both occur entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, leaving the wine unoaked to preserve its fresh and pure fruit expression.

The wine pours a pale gold color with lively aromas of white flowers, lemon, honey, and fresh-baked bread. The palate is youthful, fresh, and crisp with mineral notes, along with bright citrus and acacia flower scents.
