If you treasure Red Burgundy, revere Châteauneuf-du-Pape, or admire the depth of Spanish Priorat, Telmo Rodríguez’s Pegaso Project is an absolute must-have. Garnering rave reviews for its purity, transparency, and mineral-driven intensity, without the high-octane punch—this duo of site-specific Garnacha is redefining Spain’s collector pecking order.
Both the Granito and Barrancos de Pizarra deliver laser-sharp minerality, cutting through a vibrant core of black and red fruit, offering elegance and precision rarely matched—even by the coveted $100+ pure Grenache bottlings of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
From the breathtaking Sierra de Gredos, these wines mark a new era for Spanish Garnacha, now recognized as indigenous to Spain. For insiders, this rugged terroir is leading the conversation—and Rodríguez’s discovery of Cebreros while crossing Spain’s ancient Cañadas Reales sheep-herding trails was the catalyst for greatness. Since his first vintage in 1999, his wines have been on a meteoric trajectory, capturing a bevy of accolades.
Due to international demand and critical acclaim, these highly allocated wines are limited in the U.S. market—but we’ve secured a few exclusive six-packs with extra savings for mix-and-match purchases of 4 or more bottles. Act fast—once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Decant for an hour to unlock their full brilliance or cellar them for another 4 to 6 years—either way, these are wines to savor now or treasure for the future.
97 Points, Wine Advocate:
" ... a very elegant, fragrant nose with notes of concentrated violet and a solid palate. The slate tannins give a talcum powder texture, and the wine opens up in the mid-palate, making it very expansive. This has the combination of the cooler year and the resilience of the slate soils, coming through as complex and elegant, powerful and concentrated but with an ethereal side to it too. Bravo! - Luis Gutierrez
