Domaine Henri Delagrange is a sixth-generation Volnay family that has farmed its own vines for well over a century, formally establishing the domaine in 1978. Didier Delagrange now runs the estate, farming just under 11 hectares from Meursault to Corton with a disciplined, low-intervention philosophy built around healthy soils and restrained élevage.

Les Champans is one of Volnay's largest and most muscular premier cru climats, sited toward the appellation's southern edge near the Pommard boundary, where the extra weight and structure it brings are often described as a bridge between Volnay's characteristic perfume and Pommard's power. The 2021 vintage, a cooler, lower-yielding year, gives a fresher, more classically-styled wine than usual, with the cru's underlying structure still clearly present.
