Founded in 1990, Robert Craig's has since built its stellar reputation from Napa's mountain AVAs like Spring Mountain, specializing in small-lot Cabernet from high-elevation sites. The 2018 hails from the Crowley Vineyard, sitting at 2,000 feet on Spring Mountain's steep, dry-farmed volcanic slopes. These thin, rocky soils yield concentrated berries with firm tannins and bright acidity,
The 2018 blends 88% Cabernet Sauvignon with 12% Cabernet Franc. Aged in 80% new French oak for 20 months. Power and finesse, delivering ripe black and purple fruit and ferrous minerality with layers of licorice, cedar, and baking spices —hallmarks of Spring Mountain's cool-climate intensity and aging potential.
Critical Acclaim:

95 Points, James Suckling:
"Fragrant nose of blackcurrants, plums, cherries, bay leaves, pine needles, graphite and spice box. Full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins and bright acidity. Expressive and structured with a deep, concentrated core of dark fruit. Long and seamless."

94 Points, Vinous:
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District is laced with the essence of red/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and blood orange. It is also one of the most reticent wines in this lineup, which is unusual for this bottling. I would give this mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon a few years to soften, as it is quite nervy in the early going. There is a good bit of depth, it just needs time to emerge. This Spring Mountain Cabernet is sourced entirely from Crowley." -AG, Feb/2021
