This is your chance to anchor your holiday cellar with one of Italy’s most acclaimed Brunellos — a wine that balances heritage with innovation, elegance with muscle.
Born from vines aged 40–60 years in the historic Pelagrilli and Piancornello vineyards, Vecchie Vigne reflects both the cooler clay soils of the north and the gravelly warmth of the southeast. Each berry is meticulously selected — multiple passes in the vineyard, optical sorting, and hand selection before and after destemming — ensuring only the purest expression of old-vine Sangiovese reaches the cellar. The wine then rests for 24 months in custom French barriques, followed by concrete and extended bottle maturation. With the 2017 now showing the benefits of three extra years of bottle age, it delivers a Brunello of precision, density, and balance that is drinking beautifully today.
The Pacenti family story is inseparable from Brunello itself. Siro Pacenti was among the original farmers entrusted to shape the appellation in the 1960s. His son Giancarlo, after studying in Bordeaux, returned to Montalcino in 1988 to modernize the winery while preserving its traditions. Today, Giancarlo’s sustainable farming, massal vine selection, and uncompromising cellar practices make Pacenti one of the most respected names in Tuscany.
Experience the thrill of Brunello at full throttle. The 2017 Vecchie Vigne is ready to take its place at your table.

"Rich, deep ruby garnet in colour. A compact nose with lots of forest fruits, raspberry and blackberry, plus rich notes of tobacco and cloves in the background. There's plenty of polished, fine-meshed tannins on the palate alongside the vivid fruit, and it shows beautiful drive on the long finish."

"The Siro Pacenti 2017 Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne shows an extra degree of concentration and thickness thanks both to the vintage (this hot and dry growing season produced darker, more intense berries) and the older vines that also work toward greater fruit weight. The Vecchie Vigne shows lots of depth and textural weaving with dark berries and oak spice. In fact, the oak (and that big 15% alcohol) is more prominent in this 18,000-bottle release. It offers long-lasting notes of smoke, sweet cedar and woodshop." - Monica Larner, WA

“Ripe fruit with lavender and sandalwood as well as some new wood on the nose. Medium to full body, with firm and structured tannins that are polished and curated. Needs time to soften and come together. Bigger style for Pacenti due to the hot vintage. Try after 2023.”
