Founded in 1890, Bodegas Franco-Españolas is one of Rioja’s historic houses, long associated with traditional winemaking and extended aging. Rioja Royal represents the estate’s top-tier expression.

A 1970 Gran Reserva is a rare survivor from an era when Rioja wines were built for longevity above all else. Extended barrel aging and decades of bottle time have yielded a wine defined by savory depth rather than fruit — dried herbs, spice, leather and earthy complexity.
