Arnaud Baillot is a rising name in the Côte de Beaune, running a small, organically farmed domaine with his wife Laurène and focusing on site-specific bottlings. Les Charmots is a Premier Cru on the upper slopes of Pommard, where steep ground, high limestone content and iron-rich red clay produce some of the village's most refined wines.
The 2023 fermented with native yeasts and a portion of whole clusters, then aged 14 to 16 months in French oak, about a third of it new. It bridges Pommard's traditional muscle with the silky elegance that marks Baillot's style: dark cassis, black cherry, iron, damp earth, crushed rose petal and subtle wood spice, framed by fine-grained, gripping tannins.
