2022 I Favati, Greco di Tufo "Terrantica Etichetta Bianca"
I Favati is one of Italy's benchmark producers and an Irpinia estate that feels like it's been around for centuries. Although the family’s wine story goes back to the early 1900s, this modern winery was only launched in the late 1990s by Rosanna Petrozziello and Giancarlo Favati, who turned inherited family land and old local know-how into a serious, quality-driven estate in Cesinali, in the heart of Campania’s inland Avellino zone.
Since their beginning, I Favati has focused on classic regional varieties like Fiano, Greco di Tufo, and Aglianico, farming with intention and a strong respect for the land, working from the volcanic, altitude-gifted vineyards from one of southern Italy’s most distinctive white-wine landscapes.
Why You'll Love It
Strikes the perfect balance of ripe orchard fruit and real mineral tension.
Creamy, medium-bodied texture, layers of depth and finishes with a freshness and grip.
Critical darling, received 93-points from Vinous who called it 'Luxuriously round, soothing and ripe in character'.
How To Serve It
Serve it well-chilled, between 46-50 degrees in an all purpose white wine stem and let the florals, peach, and almond notes to show.
Pairs perfectly with shellfish, grilled fish or savory vegetable dishes with its racy acidity and mineral focus.
