Meix-Foulot is the top of its class from one of the greatest value appellations in all of Burgundy. With 42 vintages of excellence supreme, longevity like this is nearly unheard of, and it happens for a reason.
Meix-Foulot Mercurey 1er Cru has had a quiet cult following for those in the know along the east coast since their 1979 vintage. Since 1996, Agnes de Launay has been at the helm, farming the vines naturally, without herbicides, in what is one of the Côte Chalonnaise’s finest domaines. Hailing from the crus of Byots and Montaigus, the wines are raised in just 20% new wood, keeping the focus on drinkability. That’s the key. This is one to buy by the case.
