2024 Haden Fig, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley

Crafted by winemaker Erin Nuccio (who also heads the acclaimed Evesham Wood), Haden Fig represents the pinnacle of Oregon’s cool-climate, minimal-intervention ethos. The 2024 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is an ode to restraint, terroir, and drinkability. Sourced from organically farmed, dry-farmed sites planted across both volcanic and marine sedimentary soils, this bottling captures the pure, unvarnished essence of the valley's distinct sub-appellations in a single, harmonious glass.

In the cellar, Nuccio keeps things delightfully old-school: manual sorting, native-yeast fermentation, and aging exclusively in neutral French oak. This gentle, hands-off approach allows the vibrant red fruit and high-elevation tension of the 2024 vintage to shine without any masking wood tannins or heavy extraction. It pours a brilliant translucent ruby, bursting with high-toned wild strawberries, tart red cherries, crushed rose petals, and a whisper of damp forest floor. On the palate, it’s lithe and energetic, balanced by crisp acidity and ultrafine, silky tannins that drive a long, mineral-drenched finish.

Why You'll Like It

  • Burgundian Precision & Value: Delivers the pure red fruit, earthy elegance, and structural tension of a high-end Côte de Beaune at a fraction of the cost.

  • Pure, Un-Oaked Expression: Aged entirely in neutral French oak, allowing the true varietal character and Oregon soils to take center stage without vanilla or heavy toast.

  • Low-Intervention Quality: Fermented with native yeasts and crafted by one of Willamette’s most respected stewards of sustainable farming.

How to Serve It

  • Decant: Not required, but 15–20 minutes of air helps open up its floral aromatics.

  • Serving Temp: Serve slightly chilled at 55–59°F to emphasize its bright fruit and fresh acidity.

  • Glassware: Large Burgundy stemware.

  • Food Pairing: Pan-seared wild salmon, roasted duck breast with cherry reduction, mushroom risotto, or a classic charcuterie board.
