The Eyrie Vineyards is the historic birthplace of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, founded by pioneer David Lett in 1965. Today, winemaker Jason Lett continues his father's vision with non-irrigated, certified organic farming across five original estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills. Rooted in volcanic red Jory soil, Eyrie's Pinot Noirs are celebrated for their delicate color, restraint, moderate alcohol, and extraordinary ability to age gracefully for decades.
The 2022 "Estate" Pinot Noir draws on all five estate sites, including the Original Vines planted in 1965. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels with only about 12% new wood, the 2022 highlights classic Dundee Hills elegance: bright red cherries, wild raspberries, forest floor, dried tea leaf, and crushed iron.
Critical Acclaim
97 Points, Decanter
"From the first pour of this vibrant purple-hued Pinot, you'll know you're in for an extraordinary ride. This estate bottling blends Pinot from Eyrie’s 5 certified-organic estate vineyards, where the Willamette Valley's iconic variety got its start. This sophisticated, well-balanced, and highly aromatic wine offers notes of candied strawberries, orange peel, pink peppercorns, and a bouquet of florals, highlighted by the distinct scent of rose petals. On the palate, the grippy tannins and vibrant acidity hint at a promising ageing journey.. "
