Mas Doix is one of Priorat’s benchmark family estates, rooted in Poboleda and shaped by a long local lineage that was rightfully revived in 1998 by the Doix and Llagostera families. The winery’s identity is tied to old vines, steep slate slopes, and a cool, high-altitude corner of Priorat that preserves freshness without sacrificing the region’s signature depth and intensity.
Les Crestes is the estate’s polished 'introduction' wine to their world: a blend of roughly 80% Grenache, 10% Carignan, and 10% Syrah, drawn from younger bush vines on llicorella soils. It’s a genuine young Priorat — juicy, savory, mineral, and lifted — with ripe dark and red fruit, Mediterranean spice, and a stony finish that keeps the wine taut and lively rather than heavy. The estate's 1902 and 1903 wines, if you can find them, are serious collectibles and will easily cost 10x the pice of the 2021 Les Crestes.
Why You’ll Love It
It delivers real Priorat character without the price or heft of the region’s top cuvées.
The fruit is vivid and generous, but the slate-driven minerality and firm tannin keep it honest and food-friendly.
It hits that sweet spot between immediate pleasure and serious structure, making it an easy bottle to recommend with confidence.
