2010 Château Lynch-Moussas, Pauillac 5th Growth

Landed direct from the estate in mint condition, this ex-château release of the 2010 Château Lynch-Moussas is an incredible find for our Bordeaux clientele. Sourced straight from the cellar rather than a private resale list or auction, its provenance is an A++. Finding a mature, 5th Growth Pauillac from the legendary 2010 vintage under $100 is extremely hard to procure direct from the property. Robert Parker considered 2010 one of the greatest modern vintages for Pauillac, citing record-setting fruit density balanced by high natural acidity and fine-grained tannins. Enjoy it today with an hour’s decant or tuck it away for another decade.

Tucked in southwestern Pauillac near the hamlet of Moussas, this estate sits on deep gravel and chalk soils alongside neighbors like Château Batailley (1.5 km) and Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste (0.6 km). Owned by Philippe Castéja, Lynch-Moussas shares a deep historical bond with Grand-Puy-Lacoste—run by Castéja’s cousin, François-Xavier Borie, as part of Pauillac's historic Borie dynasty—as well as a shared origin with Château Lynch-Bages before splitting into independent 5th Growth properties in 1835. The family’s 2010 blend (76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot) delivers classic Pauillac muscle, combining mineral drive with deep, concentrated fruit.

In the glass, it opens with quintessential Pauillac aromas: dark cassis, wild blackberries, lead pencil shavings, and tobacco leaf. The palate is velvety, structured, and vibrant, balancing rich black fruit against a fresh core and polished tannins. It has the exact structure and charm you would find on the wine list at a classic Parisian brasserie like Le Bofinger—making it the ultimate pairing for a prime ribeye and crispy frites. Grab a few bottles to elevate your next steak dinner into a full Left Bank experience.

Santé!
