The Loire Valley Revisited
Stretching from the Atlantic coast to the eastern border with Burgundy, the Loire Valley
encompasses the lion’s share of the fertile hills and valleys that drain into the eponymous river, France’s longest. Long nicknamed “The Garden of France,” this region is home to pristinely preserved Châteaux (castles) that are surrounded by vineyards. Though “only” the third largest in French wine production, the proximity to Paris and its countless cafés and bistros have made Loire Valley wines mainstays of French culture for centuries. It’s been a few years since we’ve checked in with this historic region–let’s dive in!
