There’s no better wine-tasting experience than to taste a properly cellared Top-Growth Bordeaux after ten years of maturation, especially from an excellent vintage like 2015. We locked in stock of two over-achieving properties for the vintage: Château Giscours, a Third-Growth Margaux, and Château Haut-Batailley, a Fifth-Growth Pauillac.
This is an ex-Chateau purchase, which guarantees provenance and mint bottle condition. At the time, 2015 was the strongest vintage performance since 2009 and 2010. A dry and warm summer yielded voluptuous wines with loads of accessible fruit. Both selections are hitting their sweet spot in their evolution. Enjoy a few bottles in 2025, with the confidence that you can also tuck a few bottles away for another five to ten years, no problem.
Affordability is not a word used to describe a Third and Fifth-Growth Bordeaux, but these estates are consistently savvy buys based on their history, location, and bottle consistency.
Location, location, location …
- Haut-Batailley is less than 1.5 miles from First-Growth Chateau Latour (2015 Avg. Price = $800 per).
It’s time to lock in some perfectly cellared Bordeaux Blue-Chips for a song.
