Spanish Master Selection - 6-Bottle Tasting Experience

Spanish Master Selection – 6‑Bottle Sommelier’s Journey

Curated by a Master Sommelier, this six‑bottle collection showcases Spain’s astonishing range — from sea‑spray‑fresh Albariño to century‑old Toro vines that rival Napa’s greats. The wines are presented in tasting order to mimic a guided flight, each bottle building on the last for a complete, story‑driven immersion in Spain’s world‑class wine culture.

 The Tasting Journey

2016 Nadal Brut Nature Edició Especial Corpinnat (Penedès, Catalunya)

Your perfect aperitif. Six years on lees gives this organically grown sparkler from pioneer Ramon Nadal Giró a Champagne‑level depth: citrus zest, mirabelle plum, brioche, and flinty vibration. A wine of history (cellars carved 20m underground after the Spanish Civil War) and triumph — proof that Spain’s Corpinnat sparkling movement can outclass many grower Champagnes at half the price.

Bright, refreshing bubbles cleanse the palate and start the evening with celebration.

2023 La Val “Finca Arantei” Albariño (Rías Baixas, Galicia)

Classic Atlantic white. Fans of Grüner or Pinot Grigio will recognize the bitter‑citrus lift, but Albariño adds a distinctive twist: sea‑spray salinity, ripe tropical hints, and mouth‑watering freshness. From the heart of the best subzone in Rías Baixas (Salvaterra de Miño), this represents the archetype of Albariño — brisk, direct, unoaked, and perfect with shellfish.

It’s crisp and saline, a natural progression after sparkling, sharpening the senses for what’s to come.

2021 Bodegas Muga “Flor de Muga” Blanco (White Rioja, DOCa Rioja)

Spain’s Burgundian white. Crafted only from free‑run juice (“mosto flor”), fermented in barrels coopered in‑house from top French oak, then aged in barrel and bottle, this is white Rioja at its most ambitious. Citrus, stone fruit, sweet spice, and mineral tension unfold gradually, with power to rival Premier Cru Burgundy at a fraction of the cost.

A fuller, textural white bridge between the bright Albariño and the first reds.

2022 César Márquez Pérez “Valtuille Vino de Villa” (Bierzo, Castilla y León)

The first red, crafted by Spain’s rising star winemaker. From 100+ year‑old Mencía and Alicante Bouschet vines, farmed organically and vinified with partial whole clusters. Aromas of red raspberry, grenadine, and white pepper leap from the glass, evoking fine red Burgundy. Light on its feet, magnetic in perfume, and endlessly versatile at the table.

Introduces reds gently — bright, perfumed, and energetic.

2022 Avancia Nobleza, Old‑Vine Mencía (Valdeorras, Galicia)

A deeper dive into Mencía: 90% Mencía blended with rare indigenous grapes, dry‑farmed on slate soils. Old vines (59–74 years) give black cherry richness, graphite intensity, and concentration wrapped in elegant minerality. A serious, age‑worthy counterpoint to César Márquez’s fresher Bierzo style.

Same grape, contrasting terroir — a masterclass in side‑by‑side tasting.

2021 Bodegas Ordóñez Vatan, Tinta de Toro (Toro, Castilla y León)

The grand finale. From ungrafted pre‑phylloxera vines planted in 1900, this is a cathedral of a red: inky, muscular, layered with black fruit, leather, and tobacco. A living time capsule, and one of the greatest values worldwide for ancient‑vine wine. Built for aging through 2035 and beyond, yet glorious now with hours of decanting.

The most powerful, structured, and monumental wine of the lineup — a thundering conclusion.
