2010 Château Giscours, Margaux, Third Growth Grand Cru Classé (Decanter 96 Points)

Don’t miss this golden opportunity to procure a Third-Growth Margaux from the legendary 2010 vintage—hailed as one of the greatest in Bordeaux’s modern history. We’ve secured a limited number of cases of the 2010 Château Giscours directly from the domaine, following a standout performance at a Bordeaux Negociant Tasting in San Francisco earlier this year. Remarkably, the Giscours outshone selections priced at double or even triple the price.

This wine remains youthful, boasting impressive longevity. Its vibrant profile features primary notes of blackcurrant, dried blackberry, graphite, and violet, beautifully complemented by a mineral-driven core. With refined yet firm tannins, it’s poised for further aging, making it an ideal candidate for cellaring. Acquiring multiple bottles will allow you to chart the wine's evolution over the next 5 to 10 years.

In Decanter Magazine’s 2010 Bordeaux retrospective last year, the Giscours earned a stellar 96-point rating—a testament to the property’s consistent craftsmanship. Unlike its prestigious neighbors, such as Château Margaux and Château Palmer, Château Giscours offers exceptional value. For context, a 2010 Margaux First Growth commands $800+ on today’s market (even outside private auctions), while a Third-Growth Palmer starts at $400 per bottle. The savvy choice? Château Giscours!"

96 Points, Decanter Magazine:

Very perfumed: violets, irises and blackcurrants, supple and lively. Lifted and bright, with fruit and acidity to the fore. Lean and streamlined, tannic structure is there but no sign this has been pushed too far. Not trying too hard, clean and refined with noticeable acidity. A lovely wine.  - April 2024, "Bordeaux 2010: Reappraising the grands crus of the Médoc"
