Château Laubarit is a family-owned estate in Bordeaux's Entre-Deux-Mers Haut-Benauge region, producing Bordeaux Supérieur reds since 1780 under the Dumas and Simonneau families. The 2022 vintage blends 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards certified organic by Ecocert since 1965 and biodynamic by Demeter since 2002. These iron-rich clay-limestone soils, laced with fossilized oysters, shape the wine's mineral character and structure.
Managed by Isabelle Simonneau since 1994 alongside her husband Florent, the 30+ hectare property uses hand-harvesting and temperature-controlled tank vinification. At 13.5% ABV, the wine offers dark cherry, plum, tobacco, and earth notes with fine tannins and 5-7 years of aging potential, earning low-90-point scores for its balance.
