2023 Domaine Henri Delgrange, Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Beaune
Domaine Henri Delagrange is the real thing: a sixth-generation Volnay family that has been farming its own vines for well over a century and formally established their Domaine in 1978. Today, Didier Delagrange runs the show. He farms just under 11 hectares from Meursault to Corton with a simple, disciplined philosophy: healthy soils, hand harvesting, native fermentations, and restrained élevage that lets site and vintage lead.
The 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is proof that serious Burgundy still exists at sane prices. Sourced from higher-elevation, limestone-rich slopes west of the Côte de Beaune, this cooler-climate Pinot delivers freshness, precision, and unmistakable Burgundian character. Modest oak, gentle extraction, and estate-grown fruit result in a wine that punches far above its classification—and far beyond its price.
