Pundits and collectors alike have praised Vincent Girardin’s wines for their elegance, complexity, and balance. Through meticulous winemaking techniques, Girardin’s Chardonnays are renowned for their terroir-driven complexity. The winery owns and cultivates vineyards in some of the most prestigious appellations in Burgundy, including Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Volnay.
When Vincent Girardin founded his eponymous winery in the early 1980s, he was often referred to as a “newcomer” to the hallowed winemaking of Burgundy, given that neighboring maisons had been producing wines for centuries. The truth, however, is more nuanced. Vincent is a descendant of a family of vintners who have been winegrowers since the 17th century. For Vincent, founding his own winery was a chance to apply his philosophy, but with centuries of family know-how in his back pocket. The wines quickly became some of the most sought-after and respected examples from the region, showing purity and soft-spoken power.
"Narvaux" is a lieu-dit single vineyard and one of the most prestigious village appellations in Meursault, just above the Premier Cru “Les Genevrières" vineyards and retails for nearly 30% less! Sourced from 40-year-old vines.
93 Points, Wine Advocate:
"A terrific effort ... unwinds in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, citrus zest, hazelnuts, white flowers and light reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with racy acids, excellent depth at the core and a long, saline finish, this can go head to head with the appellation's élite."
