The wine has an opaque, dark purple center that quickly moves to heavy magenta reflections on the rim. Concentration of color is high. Viscosity is high with heavy staining of tears. The nose has ripe, dried, and slightly candied aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, and blueberry with secondary aromas of mint, eucalyptus, meat, olives, and a touch of baking spice. The wine is dry and full-bodied with flavors of overripe boysenberry, blackberry, and black cherry with mint, eucalyptus, wet leather, and wild herbs. A touch of tart cranberry and baking spice is present on the finish which is laced with an almost artificial tasting acidity like sweet tarts.
