Galicia, often referred to as “Green Spain,” is a distinctive region in northwestern Spain, characterized by its abundant rainfall and lush landscapes. It’s hard to reach, as pilgrims who have completed the march to Santiago de Compostela can attest (incidentally, its founding monks can also lay claim to developing the region’s vineyards). Albariño has long played a pivotal role in putting Galicia on the international wine map, but there is a treasure trove of other wines–both white and red–to discover.
