Sorelle Bronca, Valdobbiadene Prosecco Brut Nature, “Particella 232”

Prosecco is saddled with a “generic” image, but we’re here to show that, in the right hands, this classic Venetian sparkler can be a profoundly satisfying sparkling wine experience for half the price of a typical Champagne. Located in the acclaimed Valdobbiadene growing zone, Sorelle Bronca developed a line of vineyard-designated sparklers from organically farmed sites, including a high-elevation site nicknamed “Particella 232.” This bottling is finished without any dosage (sugar addition), giving it a particularly refreshing, bone-dry finish. This is not for Mimosas or Bellinis—serve it as you would a nice Champagne, with light appetizers as a stand-alone apéritif.

Italy

Northwestern Italy

Piedmont

Italy’s Piedmont region is really a wine “nation”unto itself, producing world-class renditions of every type of wine imaginable: red, white, sparkling, sweet...you name it! However, many wine lovers fixate on the region’s most famous appellations—Barolo and Barbaresco—and the inimitable native red that powers these wines:Nebbiolo.

Tuscany

Chianti

The area known as “Chianti” covers a major chunk of Central Tuscany, from Pisa to Florence to Siena to Arezzo—and beyond. Any wine with “Chianti” in its name is going to contain somewhere between 70% to 100% Sangiovese, and there are eight geographically specific sub-regions under the broader Chianti umbrella.
