Tasting Notes

Dear Friends,

My apologies for the delay in sending out this month’s edition of Tasting Notes, but I have a pretty good excuse: I was traveling in Portugal, visiting wineries with Wines of Portugal US Ambassador Eugenio Jardim. Without a doubt, the highlight was our time in the Douro region, which, for wine geeks, is a “bucket list” destination for sure (more on my trip in the June edition of the newsletter).

I also had the chance to hook up with SommSelect Founder Ian Cauble and Daily Discoveries Manager Mark Osburn, who are currently on an epic buying trip in Europe. We met in Germany’s Rheingau region following the annual ProWein wine fair in Dusseldorf, and I’m happy to report that there are many gems from Italy, France, Germany, Austria—and of course, Portugal—on their way to us in Sonoma.
