No matter which way you ship, remember to make sure that someone 21 or older is available to receive your package on the first delivery attempt.


SUMMER SHIPPING 2022


Climate Controlled Ground Shipping:


CCG, as it's affectionately known here at SommSelect, is our first line of defense. CCG gets your wine as close to you as possible in a refrigerated vehicle, but may require an unrefrigerated local carrier for the last mile. Although CCG may extend your shipping time, it ensures that your wine stays in a safe, temperature-controlled environment for the majority of its travels to you.


With the CCG shipping, wines are packed and shipped each Friday in a climate-controlled truck headed to the local shipping gateway in your region. Tracking information is sent to customers via email once the package is labeled by our 3rd party shipping company. Once the package arrives at the local shipping gateway, your wine is handed off to your local carrier for its final transit via standard ground to your delivery address; this is when your tracking information will update. Total time for delivery from the time the package leaves our warehouse is approximately 7 to 10 days, assuming there are no delays.

Summer Hold:


$1 Per Bottle + Pre-Paid Shipping


Your wine will be held in our climate-controlled warehouse for shipping after October 1st. Due to the volume of Summer Holds, requests for earlier shipments cannot be granted.


Build a Case:


All Build-a-Case orders will be held through the summer, and shipped by October 1 at the latest. All fees will be waived until September. For more information on how our Build a Case program works, please click here


Extreme Heat Holds:


Every Monday, our team will evaluate the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service to determine if wine can ship safely to your state. When temperatures reach 85 degrees, Climate Controlled Ground shipping cannot guarantee to keep your wine stable in transit.  If it's not safe to ship, we will hold until the following Monday, when we will re-evaluate.  If your state is under an Extreme Heat Hold, you'll be notified both at check out and via email. You will receive tracking information for your wine when it is safe to ship. Please click here to see what states are currently on Extreme Heat Hold.






SHIPPING OPTIONS (Fall, Winter & Spring)


Ground


UPS Ground orders are packed and shipped out on Monday or Tuesday. When orders are processed an automatic email will be sent to you via UPS which includes tracking information. Tracking information will update once UPS has possession of the package. Tracking links can be found in your order history. 


Climate Controlled Ground


With the Climate-Controlled Ground shipping option, wines are packed and shipped each Friday in a climate-controlled truck headed to the local shipping gateway in your region. Please note that to ship to some states we use third-party shipping companies to get your wines to you.


Arizona - Wine2U is a refrigerated wine delivery service used for all orders shipped to AZ.


Texas - Premium Wine Delivery or PWD - keeps orders in a climate-controlled environment for their entire journey. You will receive an email from PWD which includes a tracking number, and they will also contact you personally to arrange delivery when it is convenient for you!


Missouri & South Dakota - Bodega is a third-party wine shipping company used for shipments to MO. Orders are processed in our warehouse and picked up weekly on Tuesday. Tracking is sent directly from Bodega once orders are shipped. If you need to make adjustments to your shipment please contact Bodega Shipping Co.



UPS 2-Day Air


For an expedited shipping option we offer UPS 2-day air*, please be aware that this does not include the time it takes the wine to reach our warehouse and be processed for shipment. It is simply the time it will take the order to reach you once shipped.


UPS 2-day air shipping only delivers Monday-Friday, if an order is shipped Thursday or Friday it will not arrive until the following week (2 Business Days later).


Pricing for UPS 2-day air shipping varies depending on your shipping region and the number of bottles being shipped. Estimates will be provided at check out.


*In some states this option is not available.


Local Pick-up 


Local pickups are available to our local Bay Area community via appointment only. 


Please schedule your pick-up at least 2 business days in advance to ensure that there is someone at the office to coordinate your pick-up and the warehouse has sufficient time to prepare your wines. If order(s) are not picked up within 60 days, they will be shipped to the address on file and standard shipping rates will apply.
