That soil, combined with vines averaging 45 to 50 years of age, produces the most muscular, tannic, and dark-fruited Barolo in the Aldo Conterno cru lineup.

Aged traditionally for 24 to 28 months in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks, the 2022 "Cicala" is a powerhouse. It delivers a dense core of black cherries, dark plum, iron minerality, dried thyme, tobacco leaf, and tar, set on an immense, grippy tannic structure that demands patience in the cellar.

Why You'll Love It

Sourced from Cicala, famed for producing the most muscular and structured cru Barolo of Monforte.

Deep, dark fruit profile balanced by intense mineral earth and iron-like complexity.

Monumental aging capacity built to evolve over 25+ years.

How To Serve It

Serve at cool room temperature, between 60°F and 64°F.

We strongly recommend decanting for 2 to 3 hours if opening in its youth.

Pour into Burgundy stems to frame its massive, savory structure.

Pair with roasted venison, wild boar stew, or long-aged Castelmagno.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0551/3628/8822/files/2022PoderiAldoConterno_Barolo_Cicala.png?v=1793297937
