2022-poderi-aldo-conterno-barolo-bussia
2022 Poderi Aldo Conterno, Barolo "Bussia"

Poderi Aldo Conterno is synonymous with Bussia, one of the largest and most celebrated vineyard areas in Monforte d'Alba. The estate practices strict traditional winemaking for its Barolo line: long maceration on the skins followed by extended aging in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks (botti), letting site and vintage speak without the mask of new wood.

The classic Barolo "Bussia" is the core benchmark of the estate, blending Nebbiolo from several prime parcels within the Bussia MGA and aging it for 24 to 28 months in botti. The 2022 vintage yielded a rich, beautifully textured Bussia that balances power and elegance, offering red sour cherries, dried cranberries, orange peel, leather, tar, and crushed limestone, framed by firm, classic Nebbiolo tannins and vibrant natural acidity.

Why You'll Love It

The quintessential classic Barolo from one of Monforte d'Alba's most legendary producers.

Traditional large Slavonian cask aging allows pure Bussia terroir and Nebbiolo fruit to shine.

Highly complex nose of dried cherries, rose petals, pipe tobacco, and crushed rock.

Outstanding structure built for long-term evolution over 20+ years in the cellar.

How To Serve It

Serve at cool room temperature, between 60°F and 64°F.

We recommend decanting for 1.5 to 2 hours in its youth.

Pour into Burgundy stems to give the intricate, savory bouquet room to expand.

Pair with Barolo-braised beef short ribs (brasato), roasted game, or truffle risotto.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0551/3628/8822/files/2022PoderiAldoConterno_Barolo_Bussia.png?v=1793297514
