Some wines define their category: Yquem for Sauternes, DRC for Burgundy, and Lafite for Bordeaux. For Vintage Port, it’s Quinta do Noval’s “Nacional”—rarer than all of them.

From one of the oldest and most revered Port houses, Nacional is the crown jewel: a wine made entirely from ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines planted in pure schist soil. It’s the only top Port produced exclusively from a single estate vineyard—no outside fruit, no compromises. That purity of place, combined with Noval’s centuries-old mastery, is why many consider Nacional the greatest Vintage Port ever made.

Since 1931, just 34 vintages have been released—fewer than four per decade. The 2004 vintage saw under 300 cases produced, and we’ve secured a limited library release direct from the importer.

At $399/bottle, this is the lowest price in the country for this back-vintage icon. For context: recent releases (2019–2022) are approaching $1,000/bottle, and older vintages often exceed that.
