Central Chile
Casablanca Valley
This is a coastal region, just 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean, and a land of contrasts: It sits relatively close to the equator yet it is a cool, even cold, region—thanks to the Humboldt
Current, a cold-water current that runs up the west coast of South America.

Central Chile
Itata Valley
The Itata Valley is one of Chile’s most southerly wine zones. This is a very isolated area and hasn’t been explored by Chile’s wine giants. Soils are decomposed granite and most vineyards are old plantings of País and Cinsault, some of them a century old. The climate is cool, with a coastal influence.
